Primary Report  on torture inflicted by police on Sunita Soren,  a resident of Prithivinagar VDC- 9, Jhapa.

Date and time: Second week of December,  2013
Location: Area Police Office, Birtamod.
Alleged perpetrator: Police personnel of Area Police Office, Birtamod.
Background: Sunita Soren,13, daughter of Tubli Soren  used to work as a housemaid  for Niraj Chudal, a resident of Birtamod. Sunita was arrested by Birtamod Police for allegedly stealing gold from Chudal's house. Sunita said she was tortured for five days in the police custody and was released on condition that she would appear before the police when her appearance would be sought by the latter. 
Role of Institution:  This case  of human rights violation has been filed at National Human Rights Commission.
The NHRC got victim's Medical examination done at Mechi Zonal Hospital.
